Key points of this technique: camera on a tripod, reduced exposure to achieve a “normally exposed view outside and darker lights indoors” and then adding light with an external flash to brighten the interior. The subsequent shooting of 5 exposures without flash is not necessary, but I recommend it if, for example, the flash is visible in the photo. The ceilings must have a neutral color, i.e. they must not be colored.

Key points for this technique – capture ambient brackets, explore different lighting scenarios by selectively turning off lights in the scene. Before starting the light-painting technique make sure the room is completely dark. Use Shutter speed of 1s or longer.

Final Thoughts & Thank You

A few final words before you move on

Once again,
thank you for choosing this architectural photography course.

I truly hope it helps you move forward, sharpen your eye, and approach your work with more confidence and clarity. Everything you’ve seen here is based on real projects and experience I’ve gathered over more than ten years of photographing some of the world’s most beautiful hotels and properties.

This course isn’t about perfection. It’s about thinking differently, understanding space, light, and intention—and applying that mindset in your own way. If even a part of it helps you see things more clearly, then it has done its job.

I’d be grateful for your feedback or ideas for improvement. This course will continue to evolve, just like photography itself. I wish you great light, strong projects, and confidence behind the camera.
